Lama Chimed Rigdzin, who founded and directed Dorje Chokhor Ling, trained and became Lama in the Kathok Monastery, known as Kathog Dorje Den. Kathog is the oldest monastery in Tibet, located in eastern Tibet, and is considered the Mother of all other monasteries of the Nyingma Schoool, the School of Old Translation.
